I am not a demanding traveller, neither a person that is easily satisfied. It might sound strange. But I am just a simple person that demands for some basic standards to be happy.

I love nature but I am no ecological freak. I love to experience nature but this does not mean that I must hike for hours to reach a special destination with breathtaking view, some ancient ruins or a nice cottage. I can drive closer and have just a 45 minutes walk or an undemanding bike ride. Or I just take the day off and drive on lost unpaved roads with a convertible or a SUV.

I do not dislike 5 stars hotels and their services, but I rather stay in nice bed&breakfasts where I can feel the touch of the lady of the house or the fantasy of the house master.

In a city, I do not run into a museum or a church. I prefer to walk around and find a hidden square with a nice cafe, a restaurant with a river view or a small private zoo.

I am not a sommelier or a gourmand. But I like to taste good local wines or beer along with home specialities in nice places. I avoid tourist restaurants and rather choose by looking at where locals eat. No matter if it is a pizzeria, a burger place, a steakhouse, a touristic farm or a fancy fish restaurant. It is all depending on the occasion, on the surroundings and on how I and my company feel at the very moment.

As much as my free time will allow, I will post about spots that impressed me by their beauty and simplicity.

I am not a world traveller, so it will be mostly about Slovenia, where I live, and the surrounding countries.
